Who Wouldn’t Want to Go?

Big Ben. Sweets shops. Double decker buses. Tea time. Merry ol’ chaps… It’s England, baby! And the Patriots will be throwing their own little tea party in London come 2009.
That’s right. The NFL has chosen the Patriots and Bucs as next year’s London Bowl participants. As one would expect, New England can hardly wait.
“Bill (Belichick) was the number one cheerleader to get this game and have it over there,” owner Bob Kraft deadpanned to reporters Monday afternoon, “He’d have really preferred to go to China,” Kraft added to laughter from the assembled media. Watch said laughter in this here video:
Of course, Tampa Bay owner Jay Glazer is excited for this game — he owns EPL power Manchester United. Yes, the same Man. U which you and I sponsor. That’s the real question — do you root for your hometown Patriots or the team you sponsor? You have one year to decide.
I just hope Tom Brady is excited to test his knee on that loose-rooted grass EPL soccer team’s play on.
The only positive in this whole circus sideshow is that I have a year to get my stuff together, paying my own way to blog the entire adventure from abroad. That would be fun. Unlikely, but fun.
