Clearing Cap Means Saying Goodbye

I won’t have Glen Murray to kick around. His agent, the great Anton Thun, confirming to the Boston Heraldthat his client has been placed on waivers. Muzz has been a shell of his former self the last couple of seasons, dealing with some nasty foot and ankle injuries that slowed an average skater in his 30’s to a crawl. If this is “The End,” the 35-year old has had a very nice career. But you can’t bet its not over. How about a possible reunion with Jumbo Joe in San Jose? Or how about Murray ending up on a good, deep team, like say, the one that won the Stanley Cup? Or the one that got that far?

This move had to be made after the B’s extended Dennis Wideman for 4 years and 15 million dollars and pushed the club over the salary cap.
