New QB leads BC in 21-0 win

Posted by NECN - Sports August 31, 2008 at 11:03 pm

(NECN/ESPN) - Matt Ryan has been appointed as the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. But the BC Eagles have put him in their past, as they now turn to Chris Crane to handle their quarterback needs.

And it was a good debut for Crane, who was 12-of-18 for 108 yards passing. More important to the scoreboard, Crane rushed for 47 yards on 7 carries, crossing the goal line twice.

The Eagles won this game 21-0 against Kent State, who is not the type of competition BC will face in the ACC.

Patriots make late cuts of Lynch, Jackson

Posted by NECN - Sports August 31, 2008 at 10:53 pm

(NECN) - Mike Giardi hosts Chris Price of the Boston Metro and patsfans.com to discuss the late cuts of John Lynch and Chad Jackson.

Lynch was signed weeks ago, so his release was a surprise. Although, in statements from both sides it sounds as if his stint in New England is only being delayed slightly.

The Patriots traded up in the second round of the 2006 draft to get Jackson, but he never seemed to pan out. Injuries plagued his two seasons in New England, and he never really found his place on the field.
