Posted by Dan Shaughnessy, Globe Columnist March 30, 2008 at 12:00 am LOS ANGELES - Boston baseball's dual-hemisphere, season-opening tour continued last night as the Red Sox and Dodgers played an exhibition at the Los Angeles Coliseum in front of more people (115,300 tickets were sold before yesterday) than had ever seen a major league baseball game.

That's three pedigree teams and a mutt. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of college basketball knows that the first three, along with Kentucky, are the four most sacred programs in the sport.

Riders’ Away Game Viewings

Although we’re about to kick off the 2008 season in just a few hours, we recently got word that the Midnight Riders have determinded their new location for away game viewings: DJ’s at The Garden at 222 Friend St. in Boston (near the TD Banknorth Garden)
So, calling all Riders, potential Riders, Revs fans and soccer fans alike: head down to DJs on Thursday when the Revolution and Fire kick off ESPN2’s 2008 MLS coverage. ESPN2 will begin its coverage at 8 p.m.
